Kaliningrad boxer Sergey Gorokhov and his team were attacked by a large crowd in Turkey after he knocked out local fighter Emirhan Kalkan in the second round. Gorokhov, who entered the fight with a 16-11-2 record against Kalkan's 7-0, scored a knockdown in the first round before finishing the fight in the second. After celebrating his victory, a man in civilian clothes (apparently connected to Kalkan) yelled at Gorokhov, leading to pushing and shoving. When Gorokhov's cornerman Ismail pushed the man back, a mob rushed into the ring and attacked Gorokhov and his team. Two cornermen were hospitalized, and the team immediately drove from Trabzon to Georgia for safety, removing their Russian license plates. All three are now safe.
