Quick read
Kaliningrad boxer Sergey Gorokhov (16-11-2 before the bout) was attacked by a mob in the ring after knocking out local fighter Emirhan Kalkan (7-0) in the second round in Turkey. After his victory, Gorokhov celebrated enthusiastically, which prompted a civilian man associated with Kalkan to yell at him. When Gorokhov approached the man without apparent malicious intent, he was pushed away. Gorokhov's cornerman Ismail then pushed the man, triggering a mass assault on Gorokhov and his team. Ismail and another cornerman were taken to the hospital. Following medical treatment, the three immediately drove from Trabzon to Georgia, removing their Russian license plates as a precaution, and arrived safely.
