Kaliningrad boxer Sergey Gorokhov was attacked by a mob inside the ring in Turkey after knocking out local fighter Emirhan Kalkan in the second round. Gorokhov celebrated his victory, prompting a civilian associated with Kalkan to yell at him; when Gorokhov approached, the man pushed him, and Gorokhov's cornerman pushed back. A crowd then rushed the ring and assaulted Gorokhov and his team. Two of his cornermen were taken to the hospital, and afterward the team drove from Trabzon to Georgia, removing Russian license plates for safety. Gorokhov improved to 17-11-2 with the win.
