Quick read
Sergey Gorokhov, a boxer from Kaliningrad with a 16-11-2 record, was attacked by a crowd in the ring after he knocked out local Turkish fighter Emirhan Kalkan (7-0) in the second round in Trabzon. After celebrating his victory, a man in civilian clothes entered the ring and yelled at Gorokhov, who approached without malicious intent but was pushed. When Gorokhov's cornerman Ismail pushed the man back, a crowd stormed the ring and attacked Gorokhov and his team. Ismail and another cornerman were taken to the hospital. After being released, the team immediately drove from Trabzon to Georgia, removing their Russian license plates as a precaution. All three made it safely to Georgia.
