Kaliningrad boxer Sergey Gorokhov (16-11-2) knocked out local fighter Emirhan Kalkan (7-0) in the second round in Trabzon, Turkey, which triggered a violent crowd response. After Gorokhov celebrated his victory, a man in civilian clothes who appeared connected to Kalkan yelled at him, leading to pushing between the teams. A crowd then stormed the ring and attacked Gorokhov and his team. Two of Gorokhov's cornermen, including one named Ismail, were hospitalized. After leaving the hospital, the team immediately drove from Trabzon to Georgia, removing their Russian license plates for safety. They successfully reached Georgia without further incident.
