Kaliningrad boxer Sergey Gorokhov and his team were attacked by a large crowd inside the ring in Turkey after Gorokhov knocked out local fighter Emirhan Kalkan in the second round. Gorokhov had also scored a knockdown in the first round. After celebrating his victory, Gorokhov was confronted by a man in civilian clothes, apparently connected to Kalkan. Gorokhov's cornerman Ismail pushed the man, triggering a mob assault on Gorokhov and his team. Two cornermen were hospitalized. The team then drove overnight from Trabzon to Georgia, removing their Russian license plates for safety. Gorokhov's record before the fight was 16-11-2.
