Kaliningrad boxer Sergey Gorokhov (16-11-2) and his team were attacked by a mob inside the ring after he knocked out local fighter Emirhan Kalkan (7-0) in the second round in Turkey. Gorokhov dropped Kalkan in the first round before finishing him in the second. After celebrating his victory, a man in civilian clothes connected to Kalkan confronted Gorokhov, and when Gorokhov's cornerman Ismail pushed the man, approximately 50 people rushed the ring and assaulted Gorokhov and his team. Two of Gorokhov's cornermen were taken to the hospital with injuries. Following treatment, the three immediately drove from Trabzon to Georgia, removing their Russian license plates for safety. Gorokhov later stated online that about 50 people were on top of him during the attack.
