Ilia Topuria claimed he was set to fight Islam Makhachev at the White House card but was told hours before the announcement that Makhachev was injured. Topuria stated he was then matched with Justin Gaethje instead and questioned why Makhachev doesn't want to fight him. In response, Makhachev denied the injury claim, stating he accepted the fight but was told the next day that Topuria requested a huge fee and was denied. Makhachev insisted Topuria refused the fight and accused him of lying. Additionally, Dricus Du Plessis commented that Israel Adesanya was his most technical opponent, while Strickland and Tavares were his toughest, notably excluding Chimaev from consideration. Jorge Masvidal and Bo Nickal both picked Sean Strickland over Khamzat Chimaev in their upcoming fight.
