Azamat Bostanov, now a fighter manager, recounted his experience covering Khabib Nurmagomedov's title-winning performance at UFC 223 in Brooklyn eight years ago. Despite manager Ali Abdelaziz initially telling Bostanov not to approach their team after he interviewed Artem Lobov, Khabib intervened warmly, saying Bostanov was "our guy" just doing his job. Bostanov recalled how 20-30 Dagestanis gathered at the hotel ready to prevent any provocations from Conor McGregor's team. After the victory, despite exhaustion, Khabib took time to greet everyone, posed for photos with his championship belt, and spoke with numerous people in his hotel room via video calls. Bostanov also noted that Zabit Magomedsharipov broke two fingers during warm-ups but didn't tell anyone to avoid being pulled from his fight.
