Azamat Bostanov, now a fighter manager, has shared memories from Khabib Nurmagomedov's title-winning performance at UFC 223 in Brooklyn eight years ago. Bostanov recalls that after he interviewed Artem Lobov following the infamous confrontation with Khabib, manager Ali Abdel-Aziz emotionally told him not to approach their team. However, Nurmagomedov stepped in, putting his arm around Bostanov and telling Abdel-Aziz that he was their guy just doing his job. Bostanov also remembers that 20-30 Dagestanis gathered at the hotel entrance after hearing Conor McGregor's team might arrive, positioning themselves to prevent provocations against Khabib. After the event, despite being exhausted, Nurmagomedov came out to take photos with supporters and personally thanked media members for their work. Bostanov noted that even as Khabib's fame grew, he remained the same approachable, smiling person who always made time for brief conversations.
