Shamil Gaziev confirmed he weighed 140 kilograms before starting his training camp, responding to speculation about heavyweight fighters' weight management. Gaziev stated he has been dieting for the last six weeks of camp to make weight for the heavyweight limit of 120kg. According to his social media post, he currently weighs 119kg and expects no issues at the official weigh-in. The fighter clarified that his previous comments about weight referred to his off-season condition, not his in-camp weight. This addresses concerns about his weight cut, especially with the fight taking place in Australia where fighters have less recovery time due to time zone differences.
