Whittaker, nicknamed "The Reaper," carries a 27-9 record and has spent his entire UFC career at middleweight, where the 35-year-old Australian currently sits ranked sixth in the division. A former middleweight champion, he stands six feet tall with a 73-inch reach and lands 4.39 significant strikes per minute, making him one of the more active volume strikers in his weight class. Should this bout be finalized, it would mark his first appearance at 205 pounds.

Standing across from him would be Nikita Krylov, the Ukrainian fighter known as "The Miner." The 34-year-old carries a 31-11 record and is ranked thirteenth in the light heavyweight division. At six-foot-three with a 77-inch reach, Krylov holds significant physical advantages over Whittaker and brings well-rounded offensive production, averaging 4.36 significant strikes per minute at 54 percent accuracy while also contributing 2.05 takedowns per 15 minutes and 1.2 submission attempts per 15 minutes.

Why it matters

  • Whittaker's potential move to light heavyweight would represent a major career shift after years as one of middleweight's elite competitors
  • Krylov's size and grappling activity would immediately test Whittaker in ways he has rarely faced at 185 pounds
  • A strong performance by Whittaker could push him into the upper tier of an already competitive light heavyweight rankings picture
  • The bout remains unconfirmed, and official announcement would be required before either fighter's divisional status changes
