Carlos Prates has set multiple UFC records in his first eight fights. He is the fastest fighter in UFC history to achieve seven knockout victories, reaching that mark in eight fights, faster than heavyweights Dos Santos and Velasquez who needed nine fights. He also holds the record for fastest to 14 knockdowns and the highest average knockdown rate per 15 minutes of fight time. Additionally, Prates earned seven Performance of the Night bonuses in just eight fights, nearly twice as fast as the average 15 fights needed by other fighters. The post notes he has defeated two former UFC champions who had never been knocked out before. The analysis suggests this represents one of the top three eight-fight runs in UFC history, and discusses potential future matchups including Islam Makhachev.
