Tom Aspinall has confirmed his eye injury is healing and he will soon receive clearance to return to full contact training. Aspinall revealed that the UFC has informed him his next fight will be against the winner of the Alex Pereira vs Ciryl Gane matchup. He stated that Pereira and Gane should fight each other first, recover from that bout, and then he will be ready to face the victor once everyone is healthy. This suggests the UFC is planning to keep Aspinall in a top-level heavyweight title picture. Aspinall has been sidelined by the eye injury but is now making progress toward a return.
