Azamat Bostanov, now a fighter manager, shared memories from Khabib Nurmagomedov's lightweight title win at UFC 223 in Brooklyn eight years ago. Bostanov recalls interviewing Artem Lobov after his confrontation with Khabib, then being initially told by Ali Abdelaziz to stay away from the team. Khabib intervened, saying Bostanov was "our guy" just doing his job. Bostanov described 20-30 Dagestanis gathering at the hotel to prevent Conor McGregor's team from provoking Khabib. After the victory, Khabib's hotel floor was packed with people, many of whom he didn't know, but he greeted everyone, took photos, and spoke with fans via video calls despite exhaustion. Bostanov also noted that Zabit Magomedsharipov broke two fingers before his fight on the same card but competed anyway without telling officials.
