Fight Nights Global has locked in two welterweight Grand Prix bouts for BetCity Fight Nights 138, set for June 6 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Promotion head Kamil Gadzhiev confirmed that Andrey Koreshkov will meet Gleison Tibau, and Sergey Romanov will face Andre Muniz, with both contests forming part of the promotion's ongoing welterweight Grand Prix tournament.

Koreshkov, known as "Spartan," enters the fight with an impressive 19-2 record at 35 years old. The six-foot welterweight is one of the more well-rounded competitors in the bracket, averaging 2.84 significant strikes per minute at 39 percent accuracy while also posting a strong 4.8 takedowns per 15 minutes. Notably, he has yet to record a submission attempt, suggesting a preference for ground-and-pound and positional control over finishing on the mat.

His opponent, Gleison Tibau, is a 42-year-old Brazilian southpaw out of American Top Team carrying a 33-14 record. Standing five-foot-ten with a 71-inch reach, Tibau has long been one of the sport's most durable grappling-based fighters, averaging 4.08 takedowns per 15 minutes across his extensive career.

On the other side of the bracket, Andre "Sergipano" Muniz brings a 24-8 record into his clash with Romanov. The 36-year-old Brazilian southpaw stands six-foot-one with a 78-inch reach and carries sharp numbers across both striking and grappling, landing 2.08 significant strikes per minute at 48 percent accuracy while averaging nearly four takedowns and 1.1 submission attempts per 15 minutes.

Why it matters

  • Both bouts are tournament fights, meaning results will directly shape the Grand Prix bracket going forward
  • Koreshkov's elite takedown volume sets up an intriguing clash with Tibau's own grappling-heavy style
  • Muniz's submission threat, combined with his above-average striking accuracy, makes him a dangerous multi-dimensional opponent for Romanov
