Lightweight contender Mateusz Gamrot stated that Poland is cleaner, safer, more hospitable, and in many aspects more modern than the United States. The Polish fighter cited examples including Poland adopting portable payment terminals a decade before American restaurants. Gamrot criticized American hospitality, recounting being invited to barbecues where he would have gone hungry without bringing his own food, contrasting this with Polish generosity. He described American social interactions as superficial, with people expecting automatic "I'm fine" responses without genuine interest. Despite acknowledging career advantages in the US, Gamrot emphasized that quality of life isn't necessarily better there. He noted his children preferring to return to their grandmother in Poland even while on vacation in Florida, and stressed that logistical matters are resolved more efficiently at home.
