Mateusz Gamrot has stated in a podcast interview that Poland is cleaner, safer, more hospitable, and in many ways more modern than the United States. The Polish lightweight detailed specific examples, noting that payment terminals at restaurants in the U.S. lagged behind Polish technology by a decade. Gamrot criticized American hospitality customs, saying he was invited to barbecues twice but would have gone hungry if he hadn't brought his own food, contrasting this with Polish traditions. He also described American social interactions as superficial, citing the automatic "how are you, fine, bye bye" exchanges. While acknowledging the U.S. offers advantages for sports careers, Gamrot concluded that life quality isn't necessarily better there, and that his children preferred returning to their grandmother in Poland even while on a beach vacation in Florida.
