Mateusz Gamrot stated in a podcast interview that Poland is cleaner, safer, more hospitable, and in many ways more modern than the United States. The Polish lightweight detailed cultural differences he's experienced, noting that Americans have superficial social interactions and lack genuine hospitality compared to Poland. He described being invited to barbecues in the US where he would have gone hungry had he not brought his own food, contrasting this with Polish generosity. Gamrot also criticized American technological adoption, recalling surprise from a US restaurant server about portable payment terminals that had been standard in Poland for a decade. He acknowledged the US offers career advantages for athletes but argued that daily life quality is not necessarily better, citing his children's preference to return to Poland despite being on a Florida beach. The fighter emphasized that while Poland has governmental and legal problems, basic quality of life metrics favor his home country.
