Carlos Prates has achieved several historic UFC milestones in just eight fights. He reached seven knockout victories faster than any fighter in UFC history, accomplishing in eight bouts what previously took heavyweights Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez nine fights. Only 62 of 2,710 fighters (2.29%) who have competed in the UFC over 33 years have recorded seven knockouts. Prates also achieved 14 knockdowns faster than anyone in UFC history, doing so in just 17 incomplete rounds, and earned seven Performance of the Night bonuses in eight fights when most fighters require an average of 15 bouts. He has consecutively knocked out two former UFC champions who had never been knocked out before. The analysis suggests that if Islam Makhachev defeats Ian Garry and Prates, he would equal Jon Jones' legacy, and surpass it with an additional victory over Shavkat Rakhmonov.
