Khamzat Chimaev addressed several topics at a media day ahead of his fight with Sean Strickland. Regarding his decision to post old sparring footage with Strickland, Chimaev explained he was reviewing old videos and wanted to counter Strickland's claim that he only spars with weak opponents. Chimaev stated the footage showed light sparring and that Strickland would immediately complain to the coach when the intensity increased. When asked about Armenian fighter Arman Tsarukyan's chances against Strickland if he moved up to middleweight, Chimaev confidently stated Tsarukyan would win and could beat Strickland even now. Chimaev expressed his desire to fight every three months and attributed his infrequent competition to visa issues rather than lack of readiness. He also indicated openness to changing weight classes depending on UFC's financial offer.
