Mateusz Gamrot shared extensive thoughts on a podcast comparing Poland favorably to the United States across multiple dimensions. He argued that despite Poland's governmental problems, the country is cleaner, safer, and more modern in many everyday aspects. Gamrot cited an example of visiting a U.S. restaurant where portable payment terminals were treated as a recent innovation, despite being commonplace in Poland for over a decade. He criticized Americans as less hospitable, recounting being invited to barbecues twice where he would have gone hungry if he hadn't brought his own food, contrasting this with Polish generosity. Gamrot also described American social interactions as superficial, noting people expect standard "fine" responses rather than genuine conversation. He acknowledged the U.S. offers career advantages for athletes but emphasized that quality of life isn't necessarily better, sharing how his children preferred visiting their grandmother in Poland despite being in Florida.
