Polish UFC lightweight Mateusz Gamrot shared his perspective on life in Poland versus the United States during a podcast appearance. He stated that Poland is cleaner, safer, more hospitable, and in many ways more modern than America. Gamrot cited examples such as portable payment terminals being common in Poland ten years before they arrived at U.S. restaurants. He described Americans as less hospitable and their social interactions as superficial, recalling an incident where a casual "how are you" greeting was met with confusion when he gave an honest negative response. Gamrot noted that while the U.S. offers career advantages for sports, everyday life is not necessarily better, and even his children prefer being home in Poland. He concluded that despite Poland's own governmental and legal issues, he has come to appreciate his home country more through his travels.
