Polish lightweight Mateusz Gamrot gave extensive commentary on a podcast comparing life in Poland to the United States, stating that Poland is cleaner, safer, more hospitable, and in many ways more modern than America. Gamrot recounted specific examples, including being shocked that portable payment terminals were only recently introduced at a U.S. restaurant when Poland had adopted them a decade earlier. He criticized American hospitality customs, describing social interactions as superficial and recalling being invited to barbecues where he would have gone hungry if he hadn't brought his own food. Despite acknowledging advantages for sports careers in the U.S., Gamrot emphasized that quality of life is not necessarily better there. He shared that even his children, while on a Florida beach vacation surrounded by palm trees, expressed a desire to return home to their grandmother in Poland.
