Polish UFC lightweight Mateusz Gamrot shared his perspective on living in Poland versus the United States, arguing that his home country is superior in many ways. Speaking on the "WojewódzkiKędzierski" podcast, Gamrot stated that Poland is cleaner, safer, more hospitable, and in many respects more modern than America. He cited examples like portable payment terminals arriving in US restaurants a decade after they were commonplace in Poland. Gamrot also criticized American social interactions as superficial, noting that casual greetings like "How are you?" are not genuine inquiries. He described an incident where bringing his own food to a barbecue was necessary to avoid going hungry, contrasting this with Polish hospitality. While acknowledging advantages for sports careers in the US, Gamrot emphasized that quality of life and daily conveniences are often better in Poland, where he can navigate systems more efficiently.
