Tapology has added a new feature that calculates an opposition level rating for UFC fighters, expressed on a scale from 1 to 99. The metric is based on a specific formula and considers only the last six UFC fights, excluding bouts in other organizations. For UFC 328, Sean Strickland leads with a rating of 74, followed by Khamzat Chimaev at 69 and Alexander Volkov at 67. On the lower end, Baisangur Susurkayev and Ozzy Diaz both have ratings of 4, with Jorden Santos at 6. The system provides fans and analysts with a quantitative measure of the strength of schedule each fighter has faced recently.

Tapology has rolled out a new opposition level metric for UFC fighters, assigning each competitor a rating between 1 and 99 that reflects the quality of opposition they have faced in their most recent six UFC bouts, with the tool timed ahead of UFC 328 on May 9, 2026.

Sean Strickland

The system calculates scores exclusively from UFC fights, meaning bouts logged in other promotions play no part in the formula. For the current UFC 328 card, Sean Strickland sits at the top of the leaderboard with a rating of 74, while Khamzat Chimaev follows at 69 and Alexander Volkov sits third at 67. At the other end of the scale, Baisangur Susurkayev and Ozzy Diaz each carry a rating of just 4, with Jorden Santos one step above them at 6.

Alexander Volkov

Strickland, the 35-year-old middleweight champion from the United States, holds a 31-7-0 professional record and trains out of Xtreme Couture. He lands 6.04 significant strikes per minute, a mark that reflects the relentless pressure he brings to each outing.

Volkov, ranked first in the heavyweight division, enters with a 40-11-0 record and brings considerable experience at 37 years old. The six-foot-seven Russian, known as Drago, posts a striking accuracy of 57 percent and a reach of 80 inches, making him one of the more technically precise fighters in the division.

Why it matters

  • The metric gives fans and analysts a standardized way to compare recent strength of schedule across weight classes.
  • High scores for Strickland and Chimaev reflect championship-level competition at the top of the middleweight division.
  • Low ratings for fighters like Susurkayev and Diaz highlight how early-career UFC fighters often face less established opposition before climbing the rankings.
  • Limiting the window to six fights means the score stays current rather than rewarding distant past performances.
