Tapology has launched a new feature that displays an opponent quality level for UFC fighters' profiles, calculated on a scale from 1 to 99 using a specific formula detailed on the website. The metric considers only a fighter's last six UFC bouts, excluding fights from other organizations. For UFC 328, the highest-rated fighters by opponent quality are Sean Strickland (74), Hamzat Chimaev (69), and Alexander Volkov (67), while the lowest-rated include Baysangur Susurkaev and Ozzy Diaz (both at 4). The system provides fans with a quantitative measure of the caliber of opposition each fighter has faced recently. This analytical tool adds another dimension to fighter evaluation beyond simple win-loss records.
Tapology has rolled out a new opponent quality metric for UFC fighter profiles, giving fans a data-driven way to assess the caliber of opposition each competitor has faced in the promotion.

The feature assigns every UFC fighter a score between 1 and 99 based on a proprietary formula published on the Tapology website. Crucially, the system draws only from a fighter's most recent six UFC bouts, leaving out any results from other organizations. The intent is to move evaluation beyond raw win-loss records and reflect how stiff the recent competition has actually been.

Among the fighters booked for UFC 328, which takes place on May 9, 2026, Sean Strickland leads all competitors with an opponent quality score of 74. The reigning middleweight champion, a 35-year-old American out of Xtreme Couture, carries a 31-7-0 record and lands an aggressive 6.04 significant strikes per minute while fighting out of an orthodox stance. His six-foot-one frame and 76-inch reach have been put to use against some of the division's stiffest competition in recent years, as the metric reflects.

Alexander Volkov checks in third on the UFC 328 list with a score of 67. The 37-year-old Russian heavyweight, ranked number one in his division and fighting for Strela Team, holds a 40-11-0 record and brings rare physical tools to the cage — a six-foot-seven frame and an 80-inch reach — backed by a 57 percent striking accuracy rate over his recent run.

At the other end of the spectrum, Baysangur Susurkaev and Ozzy Diaz both register a score of just 4, indicating their recent UFC opponents have ranked among the weakest on the card.

Why it matters
- The metric gives context that win-loss records alone cannot, distinguishing fighters who have beaten tough opponents from those padding records against lesser competition
- Limiting the window to six UFC-only bouts keeps the score current and relevant to a fighter's standing in the promotion
- For UFC 328, the spread between a score of 74 and a score of 4 highlights significant variation in the level of competition fighters on the same card have navigated
