Tapology has implemented a new feature displaying an 'opposition level' rating in UFC fighter profiles, calculated using a proprietary formula and expressed on a scale from 1 to 99. The metric considers only a fighter's last six UFC bouts, excluding fights in other organizations. For UFC 328, Sean Strickland leads with a rating of 74, followed by Khamzat Chimaev at 69 and Alexander Volkov at 67. The lowest ratings on the card belong to Baysangur Susurkaev and Ozzie Diaz, both at 4, with Jorden Santos at 6. The system aims to quantify the quality of competition fighters have faced in recent UFC appearances.

Tapology has rolled out a new "opposition level" metric for UFC fighter profiles, with the feature going live ahead of UFC 328, scheduled for May 9, 2026.

The rating system uses a proprietary formula to assign each fighter a score on a scale from 1 to 99, reflecting the quality of competition they have faced. Crucially, the calculation draws only from a fighter's last six UFC bouts, meaning performances in other promotions play no part in the final number. The goal is to give fans and analysts a quick, standardized way to compare how stiff a fighter's recent résumé has been.

Among the UFC 328 card, Sean Strickland sits at the top with an opposition level of 74. The reigning middleweight champion, now 35 years old and fighting out of Xtreme Couture, carries a 31-7-0 record and lands an eye-catching 6.04 significant strikes per minute. Khamzat Chimaev follows at 69, with Alexander Volkov close behind at 67. Volkov, the number-one ranked heavyweight contender from Russia, stands six-foot-seven with an 80-inch reach and posts a striking accuracy of 57 percent across a 40-11-0 professional record.

At the other end of the scale, Baysangur Susurkaev and Ozzie Diaz share the card's lowest rating of 4, with Jorden Santos just above them at 6, reflecting far shorter UFC résumés to evaluate.

Why it matters

  • The metric gives a quick snapshot of résumé quality, which is often a point of debate when rankings are discussed.
  • Limiting the window to the last six UFC bouts keeps the score current but can disadvantage fighters who are newer to the promotion regardless of prior accomplishments.
  • A wide spread between top-rated and bottom-rated fighters on the same card illustrates how mixed experience levels can be across a single UFC event.
