Tapology has added a new feature to UFC fighter profiles that calculates and displays an opposition level rating on a scale from 1 to 99. The metric is calculated using a specific formula based on a fighter's last six UFC bouts, with fights in other organizations not factored into the calculation. For UFC 328, the highest-rated fighters by opposition level are Sean Strickland at 74, Hamzat Chimaev at 69, and Alexander Volkov at 67. The lowest ratings on the card belong to Baysangur Susurkaev and Ozzy Diaz, both at 4, followed by Jorden Santos at 6. This new metric provides fans and analysts with a quantitative measure of the quality of competition each fighter has faced in the UFC.

The feature assigns every UFC fighter a score between 1 and 99, calculated exclusively from their last six UFC bouts. Fights completed outside of the UFC are not counted in the formula. For UFC 328, scheduled for May 9, 2026, the top-rated fighters by that measure are Sean Strickland at 74, Hamzat Chimaev at 69, and Alexander Volkov at 67. At the other end of the spectrum, Baysangur Susurkaev and Ozzy Diaz each register a 4, with Jorden Santos just above them at 6.

Strickland, the 35-year-old middleweight champion from the United States, carries a 31-7-0 record and trains out of Xtreme Couture. The orthodox striker lands 6.04 significant strikes per minute and holds a 76-inch reach, making him one of the most active volume strikers at 185 pounds. His score of 74 reflects a title-level run against elite opposition.

Volkov, ranked first in the heavyweight division, brings a 40-11-0 record into the event at 37 years old. The six-foot-seven Russian southpaw-turned-orthodox fighter boasts a striking accuracy of 57 percent and a reach of 80 inches, and his opposition score of 67 speaks to a lengthy career built against top-tier heavyweights.

Why it matters

  • The metric offers a quick, data-backed way to contextualize a fighter's recent schedule without relying on subjective assessments.
  • Scores for championship-level fighters like Strickland and high-ranked contenders like Volkov should reflect the stiffer competition found at the top of each division.
  • The low scores logged by Susurkaev, Diaz, and Santos highlight the gap between newer or lower-ranked fighters and established UFC regulars, which could factor into how matchmakers and fans evaluate those bouts on UFC 328.
