Mateusz Gamrot stated in a podcast interview that Poland is cleaner, safer, more hospitable, and in many ways more modern than the United States. The UFC lightweight contender cited examples of Poland having contactless payment terminals ten years ago while some U.S. restaurants only recently adopted them. Gamrot described Americans as less hospitable, recounting experiences where he was invited to barbecues but would have gone hungry without bringing his own food, contrasting this with Polish hospitality. He also criticized American social interactions as superficial, noting the formulaic "how are you" exchanges. While acknowledging the U.S. offers career advantages for sports, Gamrot emphasized that quality of life is not necessarily better, mentioning that even his children preferred returning to their grandmother in Poland despite being at a Florida beach. He concluded that despite Poland's governmental and legal problems, everyday life functions better there.
