Mateusz Gamrot stated in a podcast interview that Poland is cleaner, safer, more hospitable, and in many ways more modern than the United States. The UFC lightweight cited examples such as restaurants in America only recently adopting portable payment terminals, technology Poland had implemented a decade earlier. Gamrot described Americans as less hospitable, recounting being invited to barbecues where he would have gone hungry if he hadn't brought his own food, contrasting this with Polish hospitality. He also criticized American social interactions as superficial, noting the standard "How are you? Fine, bye bye" exchanges lack genuine depth. Despite acknowledging advantages for sports and career opportunities in the US, Gamrot emphasized that quality of life isn't necessarily better there, adding that even his children prefer being home in Poland despite Florida's beaches and palm trees.
