Tapology has added a new feature that calculates and displays an opposition level rating for UFC fighters in their profiles. The metric ranges from 1 to 99 and is calculated using a specific formula based on a fighter's last six UFC bouts, excluding fights in other organizations. For UFC 328, Sean Strickland leads with a rating of 74, followed by Khamzat Chimaev at 69 and Alexander Volkov at 67. The lowest ratings on the card include Baysangur Susurkaev and Ozzie Diaz, both at 4. The system provides a quantitative measure of the quality of opponents a fighter has recently faced.
Tapology has rolled out a new opposition level rating system for UFC fighters, giving fans and analysts a numerical snapshot of the competition each fighter has faced in their recent octagon appearances.

The metric operates on a scale of one to 99 and is calculated using a defined formula that draws exclusively from a fighter's last six UFC bouts, leaving out any contests from other promotions. For UFC 328, scheduled for May 9, Sean Strickland sits atop the card with the highest opposition rating of 74.

Strickland, the reigning middleweight champion, carries a 31-7-0 record and is 35 years old. The Xtreme Couture product out of the United States stands six-foot-one with a 76-inch reach and has built a reputation as one of the division's highest-volume strikers, landing 6.04 significant strikes per minute at 42 percent accuracy.

Alexander Volkov checks in second among the featured names on the card with a rating of 67. The 37-year-old Russian heavyweight, nicknamed Drago, holds a 40-11-0 record and is ranked number one in his division. Standing six-foot-seven with an 80-inch reach, Volkov lands 4.78 significant strikes per minute at an accuracy rate of 57 percent, making him one of the more precise punchers in the heavyweight ranks.

At the other end of the spectrum, Baysangur Susurkaev and Ozzie Diaz each carry ratings of just 4, reflecting a recent run of opponents with lower UFC profiles.

Why it matters
- The system offers a concrete, formula-driven way to compare fighter schedules rather than relying on subjective assessments of opponent quality.
- Strickland's leading rating of 74 underscores the caliber of middleweights he has navigated as champion.
- Volkov's 67 rating reinforces his standing as a top-ranked heavyweight with a tested recent resume.
- The low ratings for Susurkaev and Diaz highlight a meaningful gap in experience levels across the UFC 328 card.
