UFC lightweight Mateusz Gamrot shared his perspective that Poland surpasses the United States in cleanliness, safety, hospitality, and many aspects of modernization. Speaking on a podcast, Gamrot noted that Poland adopted portable payment terminals a decade ago while some US restaurants only recently implemented them, challenging perceptions of American technological advancement. He criticized American hospitality as superficial, recounting experiences where he had to bring his own food to barbecues and noting the shallow nature of typical "how are you" exchanges. Gamrot acknowledged the US offers career advantages for sports but emphasized that quality of life is not necessarily better. He shared that even his children, while on a Florida beach vacation, expressed wanting to return to their grandmother in Poland. Gamrot concluded that navigating daily life is simpler at home where he knows the shortcuts.
