Lightweight contender Mateusz Gamrot stated in a podcast interview that he finds Poland superior to the United States in many aspects of daily life, including cleanliness, safety, and hospitality. Gamrot criticized American culture as superficial, recounting an instance where someone asking "how are you?" was unprepared for an honest negative response. He noted that Poland is more modern in certain conveniences, citing that mobile payment terminals arrived in Poland a decade before becoming standard in American restaurants. Gamrot also criticized American hospitality, saying he was expected to bring his own food to barbecues, contrasting it with Polish generosity. While acknowledging the US offers career advantages for sports, he emphasized that quality of life is not necessarily better, sharing that his children preferred returning to their grandmother in Poland despite being on a Florida beach. He concluded that navigating daily tasks is simpler in Poland where he knows efficient shortcuts.
