Polish UFC lightweight Mateusz Gamrot has stated that Poland is cleaner, safer, more hospitable, and in many ways more modern than the United States, based on his extensive travel experience. Gamrot cited examples such as American restaurants only recently adopting portable payment terminals, technology that Poland had implemented a decade earlier. He criticized American hospitality customs, recounting experiences where he was invited to barbecues but expected to bring his own food, contrasting this with Polish culture where guests are fed and provided for. Gamrot also described American social interactions as superficial, noting the automatic "How are you? Fine" exchanges without genuine interest. While acknowledging advantages for sports careers in the US, Gamrot emphasized that quality of life is not necessarily better there. He noted that even his children, despite being in Florida with beaches and palm trees, expressed a desire to return home to Poland to see their grandmother.
