UFC lightweight contender Mateusz Gamrot offered extensive commentary comparing life in Poland favorably to the United States across multiple dimensions. The Polish fighter argued his home country is cleaner, safer, more hospitable, and in many ways more technologically modern than America. Gamrot cited an example of U.S. restaurants only recently adopting portable payment terminals that Poland implemented a decade earlier. He criticized American hospitality customs, describing being invited to barbecues where he would have gone hungry without bringing his own food, contrasting this with Polish generosity. Gamrot also noted superficial social interactions in the U.S., recounting an instance where his honest response to "How are you?" left an American confused. While acknowledging career advantages in America for professional fighters, Gamrot emphasized that quality of life is not necessarily superior, noting even his children preferred returning to their grandmother in Poland despite being on a Florida beach.
