Speaking on Ariel Helwani's podcast, Poirier claimed that officials announced 185 pounds immediately when Chimaev stepped on the scale, without allowing the balance beam to properly settle. Poirier emphasized that the hanging scales used require time to balance before an accurate reading can be confirmed.
