Alexander Volkov defeats Waldo Cortes-Acosta by unanimous decision at UFC 328

Alexander Volkov earned a unanimous decision victory over Waldo Cortes-Acosta with scorecards of 30-27, 29-28, and 29-28 at UFC 328 in New Jersey. The crowd booed the decision, apparently favoring Cortes-Acosta's showmanship in calling for exchanges in the center of the octagon. Volkov appeared to control the first two rounds of the contest. In his post-fight interview, Volkov entered the octagon with a Russian flag and stated it was an honor to fight on May 9th, Victory Day in Russia. He called for a title shot against any top contender, specifically naming Tom Aspinall, Ciryl Gane, or Alex Pereira, and claimed he was robbed in his previous fight against Gane.
