Topuria and Makhachev dispute White House event fight negotiations

Ilia Topuria and Islam Makhachev have publicly contradicted each other regarding failed negotiations for a potential White House event bout. Topuria claimed he went to sleep knowing the fight with Islam was scheduled, only to receive a call hours before the announcement stating Makhachev was injured and he would instead face Justin Gaethje. Makhachev countered that he accepted the White House fight offer, but was told the next day that Topuria requested an enormous purse and was denied, resulting in Topuria declining the bout. Makhachev challenged Topuria to stop lying, noting even his manager confirmed the account. In a curious footnote, when a fan commented at 4 AM telling Ali to go to sleep, Makhachev responded "Today it's not him," suggesting someone else was managing his account.
