Arthur Chimaev provided detailed information about his brother Khamzat's weight cut troubles before UFC 328 in an interview with Vadim Tikhomirov. When 1.2 kg remained to be cut, Khamzat's body failed and they had to stop for an hour due to health concerns. Khamzat nearly lost consciousness due to oxygen deprivation. He had signed to fight Jiri Prochazka at light heavyweight when UFC contacted him directly to face Sean Strickland instead. Khamzat weighed 97 kg two weeks before the fight and 105 kg around March 13. After the weigh-in, he only managed to rehydrate 5-6 kg before the fight. The team has requested a rematch with Strickland for October in Abu Dhabi.
