Chimaev's brother details extreme weight cut from 105kg, near loss of consciousness

Arthur Chimaev provided detailed information about his brother Khamzat's weight cut before UFC 328. Khamzat's body shut down when 1.2kg remained, causing a one-hour pause due to health concerns and near loss of consciousness from oxygen deprivation. The decision to cut from 84kg to middleweight came after an agreed-upon fight with Jiri Prochazka at 93kg fell through and UFC requested he fight Sean Strickland instead. Two weeks before the fight Khamzat weighed 97kg, and around March 13 he was 105kg. After weigh-ins, he only regained 5-6 kilograms before the fight. The team has requested a rematch with Strickland for October in Abu Dhabi.
