Kyrgyzstan's MMA scene is experiencing significant growth beyond Valentina Shevchenko and Rafael Fiziev. The post highlights six top fighters representing the country's new wave of talent. Kyrgyzstan's combat sports reputation has long rested on the shoulders of established stars, but a new generation of fighters is rapidly expanding the country's footprint across global MMA promotions.

The most recognizable names from Kyrgyzstan remain Valentina Shevchenko and Rafael Fiziev. Shevchenko, 38, is the reigning UFC Women's Flyweight Champion with a record of 26-4-1, landing 3.14 significant strikes per minute at 52 percent accuracy while also averaging 2.62 takedowns per 15 minutes. Fiziev, 33, holds a 14-5 record and sits ranked seventh in the UFC lightweight division, posting an impressive 4.71 significant strikes landed per minute. Both train out of Tiger Muay Thai.

Behind those two, however, a wave of younger talent is making noise across multiple organizations. Razhanbali Shaidullaev, just 25 years old and undefeated at 19-0, currently holds the Rizin featherweight championship. Zhaksylyk Myrzabekov, 27, carries a 15-2 record and the ACA interim welterweight title. Edil Esengulov, also 27 at 14-4, is riding a three-fight finish streak that includes a triangle choke submission over Ibrahim Magomedov at an ACA event in Tashkent.

Akbar Abdullaev, 28 and undefeated at 13-0, has gone five-for-five by knockout or technical knockout since joining One Championship in 2023. Kubanychbek Abdisalam, 31, departed Brave Combat Federation as its undefeated lightweight champion with two title defenses to his name, posting a 23-3 record overall. Myktybek Orolbay, 28 at 10-2, is working toward the UFC welterweight top 15 with a finishing style described as well-rounded.

Why it matters

  • Kyrgyzstan now has titleholders or top contenders active in Rizin, ACA, One Championship, Brave, and the UFC simultaneously
  • The age range across these six fighters sits between 25 and 31, suggesting the pipeline has significant runway
  • Stylistic diversity, ranging from submission grappling to heavy knockout power, signals depth rather than a single-discipline concentration
