Demid Volkov from Vyritsa became Russia's combat sambo champion in the 88 kg division at 18 years old, one of the youngest ever. He trains under Alexander Korshunov and spars with Denis Goltsov, Moknatkin, and Khadis Ibragimov. Volkov defeated Platon Lebedev in the MMA junior championship final at 93 kg with takedowns and ground control.
