18-year-old Demid Volkov wins Russian combat sambo championship

Demid Volkov became Russian champion in combat sambo in the 88 kg division at age 18. The St. Petersburg prospect from Vyritsa trains under Alexander Korshunov and spars with Denis Goltsov, Mokhnatkin, and Khadis Ibragimov. Volkov also won the junior MMA championship in the 93 kg category, defeating 17-year-old Platon Lebedev in the final with clinch work and throws.
