18-year-old Demid Volkov wins Russian MMA championship

Demid Volkov captured the Russian MMA junior championship in the 93kg division at age 18. In March, he also became the Russian combat sambo champion in the 88kg category. Volkov trains under Alexander Korshunov and spars with Denis Goltsov, Mohnatkhin, and Khadis Ibragimov. In the final, he defeated 17-year-old Platon Lebedev by controlling the clinch and landing powerful throws.
