18-year-old Demid Volkov wins Russian combat sambo title

Middleweight/light heavyweight prospect Demid Volkov captured the Russian combat sambo championship in the under-88 kg division at just 18 years old. The Vyritsa native trains under Alexander Korshunov and spars with Denis Goltsov, Mokhnatkin, and Khadis Ibragimov. Volkov also won the junior MMA national title in the under-93 kg class by defeating 17-year-old Platon Lebedev via clinch work and throws.
