Demid Volkov captured the Russian Combat Sambo title in the men's 88kg division at age 18, becoming one of the youngest champions in the discipline's history. The St. Petersburg native also claimed the junior MMA national title at 93kg. Volkov trains under Alexander Korshunov and spars with Denis Goltsov, Makhmat Mokhnatkin, and Khadis Ibragimov.
