18-year-old Demid Volkov wins Russian MMA championship at middleweight

Demid Volkov, an 18-year-old middleweight from St. Petersburg, won the Russian MMA championship in March after capturing the combat sambo national title in the under-88 kg division. Volkov trains under Alexander Korshunov and spars with Denis Goltsov, Mokhnatkin, and Khadis Ibragimov. In the junior championship final, he defeated 17-year-old Platon Lebedev with throws and ground control.
