Demid Volkov became the Russian combat sambo champion in the 88kg division at just 18 years old. The St. Petersburg native also won the junior MMA championship in the 93kg category, defeating Platon Lebedev in the final. Volkov trains under Alexander Korshunov and spars with Denis Goltsov, Sergey Mohnaktin, and Hadis Ibragimov.
