18-year-old Demid Volkov wins Russian combat sambo championship

Demid Volkov became the Russian combat sambo champion in the 88 kg division at age 18, a rare achievement for such a young athlete. The St. Petersburg fighter defeated Platon Lebedev in the junior MMA championship final with clinch work and throws. Volkov trains with Denis Goltsov and spars with top fighters including Mokhnatkina and Khadis Ibragimov.
